Patellofemoral ligament reconstruction is indicated when there is kneecap (patella) instability that causes recurrent dislocations or subluxations.

The procedure involves creating a new ligament using a graft to stabilize the kneecap and prevent it from slipping out of its groove, restoring normal knee mechanics and reducing pain.
